Hilt (“we,” “our”) is published by S & S Consulting Group. This policy describes what the macOS app and the website at hiltutil.org collect and why.
Summary
Hilt is a local conversion utility. Module conversion runs on your Mac. We do not require an account. We do not sell personal data. Module files you open stay under your control on your computer.
Information we collect
- On-device preferences. Settings such as overwrite, dry run, and a bookmark to your chosen output folder are stored in macOS user defaults on your Mac. They do not leave your device unless you use system backups that you control.
- Module files. When you convert, Hilt reads source modules you select and writes converted modules to a destination folder you choose. We do not upload those files to our servers.
- Support email. If you write to support@ssconsultinggroup.net, we receive the address and content you send so we can help you.
- Website logs. Like most sites, our web server may record standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps) for security and reliability. We do not use these logs for advertising profiles.
Information we do not collect
- We do not require an account or login for core conversion features.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers in the app.
- We do not sell or rent personal information.
- We do not receive the contents of your modules unless you deliberately attach them to a support email.
App Sandbox & files
On distribution builds, Hilt uses the macOS App Sandbox with user-selected file access. You grant access when you open modules or choose an output folder. Hilt does not browse your disk beyond what you select.
Children
Hilt is a general-audience utility. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children for marketing. Parents or guardians with questions may contact us at the address below.
Third-party services
If you obtain Hilt from Apple (App Store or TestFlight), Apple’s privacy practices apply to downloads and any Apple services you use. GitHub or other download hosts you choose have their own policies. e-Sword X is a separate product from its publisher; Hilt is not affiliated with e-Sword or Rick Meyers.
Data retention
On-device preferences remain until you delete the app or clear them. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your request and meet ordinary business records needs. Server access logs are rotated on a routine schedule.
Your choices
- Delete the app to remove local preferences from the device (subject to any backups you manage).
- Contact us to request deletion of support correspondence we hold.
- Choose which folders and modules the app may access via macOS file dialogs.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product grows. The “Effective” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app or website after an update means you accept the revised policy.
